The Vice-President for Internationalisation and International Cooperation intends to further enhance our University's international profile in collaboration with the departments, the International Office and the other bodies of the University. This work focuses on the conceptual design and implementation of the University's internationalisation strategy. We attach great importance to establishing and advancing the existing international partnerships. The Bonn-Rhine-Sieg University of Applied Sciences already has connections with approximately 50 partner universities in about 30 countries. We also find it important to establish and expand the International Office. Alongside the expanded Office for International and Academic Affairs, the latter will comprise the new International Welcome Centre, which is yet to be set up. This centre will serve as a contact and service point to deal with the academic, social and intercultural issues raised by our international students and guest lecturers.
Furthermore, it is essential to further utilise the potential of the international academic and industrial location of the Bonn-Rhine-Sieg area, which is unique in Germany. Alongside the existing partnerships, cooperation with universities, research facilities, institutions and companies in the relevant developing and emerging countries will be improved as a further profile element.
The trans-university Core Team International has been set up as a counselling panel for the heads of our University that serves as an information platform for these activities and, at the same time, advances the conceptual design of our University's internationalisation strategy.
