How to apply
For sucessfull organisation of your semester or study year abroad it is mandatory that you stick to the overall schedule and meet all deadlines on the way.
Please check beforehand the requirements for participation at the exchange programm.
Preselection
15th June - 15th July each year: Please fill in the preselection form that will be available via the SIS (from 15th June on). With this preselection you decide whether you want to
- join a partner university
- organize your stay at a non-partner university independently yet with some assistance
- stay with us in Rheinbach
No decision is made at that point regarding either country or university of choice, length of stay, or type of degree you are aiming at.
Selection
1st October - 15th November each year: To apply for participation at the exchange program please submit the following four documents:
- Selection form (which university, length of stay, three universities can be chosen)
- Curriculum vitae
- Motivation letter
- Transcript of Records (SIS-print out is sufficient)
Your decision for a university including length of stay is considered final from this point of time on!
Please mind that documents that are presented later than 15th November will not be processed.
Assignment
15th December - 15th January: You will be informed whether you are admitted to the exchange program and to which university you are assigned. If no placement at the first-prioritiy university is possible we will discuss other options with you.
Application at the partner university
Spring each year: Start the application at your partner university. The international office will guide you through this process. Please mind that the partner university has the final right to admit you to their study program!
As part of the assignment process you'll also have to fill in a learning agreement: a "study contract" signed by the student and coordinators of both universities and departments. This study contract fixes the courses that you will take at the partner university including the workload involved. Please seek councelling before handing over the learning agreement.
